This property had been built in 1950 and remained unaltered when it was bought by the client, a collector of midC20th furniture, ceramics and art pieces. Built up beds edged with Castlemaine slate ran along the perimeter of the property in the style of that era and a large concrete apron at the rear of property provided for access to the garage beneath the main part of the house. The concrete apron had to be retained to allow car access and so concrete pots of the era, planted with succulents and tough evergreen plants were positioned in groupings on the concrete to soften the space while still allowing access. The large front terrace was also used to showcase a collection of potted succulents. Fences were covered with evergreen climbing plants to create a green space and narrow beds were planted with Native Frangipani and variegated Agave surrounded by groundcover succulents. River pebbles and feature rocks were used in reference to the era of the property.
