"Sorting our garden planting and design was a pleasant, evolving experience involving a balance of Jane's practical ideas; knowledge; experience and design sense with our various opinions and tendencies. At every stage Jane was easy to work with, thoughtful and patient as we weighed up every little decision. We now have a garden we love being in thanks to the time and effort Jane has put in."
The clients enjoyed the atmosphere of the Brunswick back street that they live in. They did not want a fence blocking them from the street and wanted the front garden to reflect, and be part of, their neighbourhood. They also wanted privacy and to to do as little maintenance as possible on the garden. Caesia 'Silver Princess' planted in front of the windows provide privacy in the front rooms without blocking light, and allow the occupants to feel as though they are part of the street. The succulent underplanting was used as part of a soft, neutral plant palette that worked with the colour tones of the house. The back garden is a backdrop to the large deck extending from the house and here the same neutral colour palette was accented with the bright green of Lomandra and the Pandorea covering the old Brunswick corrugated iron fence..
